Bartender Liz has become something of a local legend, pouring drinks and bringing energy to the room in a way that makes first-timers feel like regulars. At 4.6 stars across dozens of reviews, this lodge earns its reputation the old-fashioned way: one genuine interaction at a time.

When visitors stopped in and were greeted by Tina, who personally walked them through the lodge and introduced them to members, that wasn't a fluke. That's the culture here. Located at 255 Shoppers Drive in Winchester, Kentucky, the lodge draws members and guests from across Clark County and beyond, including people who visited once and came back ready to join.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has been one of America's most enduring fraternal organizations since 1868, and Lodge #2816 carries that legacy forward with a local heart. Charitable giving, community events, and a genuine sense of belonging define what happens inside these walls every week.

What We Offer

Lodge #2816 offers members a full-service bar where the drinks are poured right and the conversation flows freely. The lounge is the social hub, a place where Clark County locals decompress, celebrate, and connect after a long day or week.

Beyond the bar, the lodge hosts charitable fundraisers, member meetings, and community events that put real dollars back into Winchester, KY and surrounding areas. Youth programs, veteran support, and local scholarships are central to the Elks mission, and this lodge takes that seriously.

Membership opens the door to Elks national reciprocity, meaning your card gets you welcomed at lodges across the country. Whether you're applying for the first time or transferring from another lodge, the path to membership starts with a background check and a sponsor, and the community you gain is worth every step of that process.

"I paid for a background check for the purpose of membership. That’s been over a year and I’ve not heard anything from anyone although I e asked about it. I found out tonight that a friend was banned for life. Not really sure why but one of your member was rude as hell to her. Totally uncalled for in front of everyone there. I can’t believe you allow people like that to represent you. She should be the one banned! My friend and her deceased husband were members & on your board years ago. He passed away & you have a stone with his name on it out front. He was a long time member and did a lot for Winchester Elks. His wife, My friend has had health issues including a heart attack. She lived in Texas with her son for a while before moving back to Winchester. I was with her when she paid a partial years dues a while back. Nobody mentioned her being a problem. She filled out the form for membership. The only thing she got from you was something saying she owed the new years fees which had gone up. She couldn’t afford it so she let it go. Tonight she was told she was banned for life. Total shock! In front of everyone there! How rude! She is 77. The way she was talked to is considered elderly abuse. It could’ve been done in a more positive way. She should’ve been taken away from the crowd! She was embarrassed by your member. It stressed her out so bad that she could’ve had a heart problem. I want my background check mailed to me. I paid for it. It’s not yours. I do not want to be a part of that group. I would not recommend it to anyone. I know several people there. As for me, you can bet I will share the experience It was totally done in the wrong way. By the way my friend was playing a machine & the rude person was quite snippy when we asked her questions about the game. By the way Ralph signed us in. We brought things including food for the benefit being held Saturday. He didn’t know about the ban! This was so wrong! I am embarrassed for my friend. We didn’t deserve the treatment we experienced."
